When young Steven Spielberg was first offered the screenplay for Jaws, he said he would integrate the film on one condition: That he didnt concord to immortalize the shark for the first hour. Richard Attenborough, as the millionaire who builds the park, is given a some itty-bitty dimensions - he loves his grandchildren, hes basically a good soul, he realizes the misunderstanding of tampering with nature.

But there was an opportunity here to break his character grand and original, colorful and oversize, and instead he comes crossways as unfocused and benign.
